Melody Odemis joined Waugh Law in October 2020 as a paralegal. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Business and Information Management from Seminole State College. Her next endeavor is to become a NALA certified and Florida Registered Paralegal.
Melody worked at a property management company on Park Ave in Winter Park, Florida, which exposed her to the world of commercial real estate. She then began working as a legal assistant at a real estate law firm, kicking off her career in the legal field. She is experienced in drafting estate planning documents, handling commercial and residential real estate transactions and closings, performing short sale negotiations, as well as forming various business entities and performing due diligence searches. Her favorite aspect of her work is client satisfaction from the results.
While working on her bachelor’s degree, Melody worked at Publix and Fairwinds Credit Union. She also served at a restaurant in Winter Park Village. Collectively through these positions, she learned how to positively connect with people while providing them excellent service, striving to leave them happier than they were when they came to her.
Melody is originally from New York and moved to Central Florida in 2003, where she graduated from Lake Mary High School. She then moved to Phoenixville, PA and Istanbul, Turkey, ultimately coming back to Orlando to settle down in 2014. She currently lives in Oviedo.
In her free time, Melody enjoys taking piano lessons to hone her skills, reading an immersive novel, kayaking along one of Central Florida's many springs, and relaxing with her cat, Lulu. Her favorite pastime is traveling to new places as well as learning about their traditions and history.
